SUPER SIMPLE VEGAN MEAL PLAN

SOOOOO many people who might be interested in giving vegan eating a try are deterred by the unknown. “Where do I start?”, “What will I eat?”, “Can you tell me EXACTLY what you eat everyday?” are among the statements I hear. They’re all fair questions. Switching your diet to avoid any and all animal products is a big undertaking. It’s not physically, emotionally, or fiscally difficult, but so, so much food in America involves animal products and to think about what doesn’t seems overwhelming. I hear the tentativeness in interested people’s voices when they ask, “Do you have a meal plan?”. It’s like they’re on a cliff, ready to jump, but everything they know is behind them and though the promise of health and happiness is in front of them…they can’t see it. They need some help jumping and any little difficulty can make them turn back to their old, familiar habits. Comfortable, but usually NOT healthy or compassionate. Until now, I’ve given them certain links to already plotted out meal plans. Very good ones from the likes of PETA, HSUS, The Vegan Society, and other stand-up organizations.

The problem is…most all those meal plans focus on variety and impressiveness of meals, not simplicity or familiarity, which are the two things I believe vegan-curious folks really need.

So, without further ado, I unveil my SUPER SIMPLE VEGAN MEAL PLAN. It’s got 5 different things for breakfasts, 5 different things for lunch, and 5 different things for dinner (along with some super simple snack ideas for between meals).

This meal plan will not wow any chefs or make any Top Ten lists, but what it will do is give vegan-curious friends, family, and coworkers a straight forward, quick, easy, and affordable list of vegan dishes to eat at every meal. No need to have special cooking skills or equipment. No unfamiliar ingredients. Nothing adventurous and nothing time-consuming. It’s stuff they already eat, just streamlined to remove the animal products.
